Hi, I’m Ashley and I’m a passionate creative professional who has filled many different roles over the course of my career. My history managing creative teams, reporting to stakeholders, growing client and vendor relationships, and explaining creative strategies to non-creative partners has helped me expand my ability to distill complex ideas into simple language and enhanced my role as an effective communicator. I have built many trusted professional relationships with my willingness to receive and give feedback because I believe that communication is the key to any successful relationship.

Building relationships through trust, transparency, and integrity is a huge motivation for me. I thrive when I am able to demonstrate my core competencies and enjoy when I am trusted with higher decision-making responsibilities or asked to collaborate on tasks and projects. Contributing to a team or organization that focus on empathy driven solutions is another personal motivation. I want to understand the user, discover their journey and reveal their pain points before diving into offering solutions. Especially, if I can do so for historically marginalized and under represented groups. Helping to design more accessible experiences for low-income, differently abled, and LGBTQ+ peoples is a professional and personal goal of mine.

I got my start fresh out of CSUF COTA with a small design firm there we contracted with many county and city level public agencies. Working for the public good has always been important to me, which is why I now volunteer my time on a regular basis. After I had 4 years experience under my belt, I switched over to CPG and spent over 6 years learning about the retail industry, how to lead creative teams, communicating with cross-functional teams, and learning the outer limits of my professional capacity.

Currently, my goals lead me all over the place. They've led me to start a certificate course to learn more about the user experience. My goals have also led me to volunteer with different organizations, sorting food donations for food pantries, helping get out the vote for the next election, or creating educational content for marginalized communities. Another goal has resulted in me doing projects with tools I've never used before just so I can learn to use them. I've got a whole lot of time left in my professional career and I'm excited to see where I go next.

I hope you’ll take the time to download my resume and review my professional experience. If you’d like to connect and have a lively conversation about designing with empathy and creative problem solving, please email me at sinohuia@gmail.com or message me on LinkedIn. I’m always looking to expand my creative circle.
